FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 1, 2025
Fairfax, VA — MindsEye, George Mason University and the National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA) are proud to host the inaugural Ultimate Beep Baseball Tournament (UBT), a premier All-Star competition spotlighting the sports top players from across the country. Held October 3-4, 2025, at George Mason University’s West Campus (Fields 4 and 5).
This FREE adaptive athletics showcase invites athletes, families, and fans to experience the skill and intensity of inclusive competition.
Beep baseball, or beepball, is an adaptive sport for blind and visually impaired athletes where a beeping ball and buzzing bases guide fast-paced, competitive play.
“It’s a game of skill, speed, and teamwork, and it opens doors for athletes to showcase their talent and connect through sport. MindsEye is proud to help grow this incredible community,” said Jason Frazier, Executive Director at MindsEye.
“We’re honored to welcome these incredible athletes to our campus and to help shine a spotlight on a sport that exemplifies the power of adaptive athletics,” said Paul Bazzano, Assistant Director of Competitive Sports at George Mason University. “Events like this reflect our commitment to inclusion and showcase the strength, skill, and spirit of every competitor.”
The NBBA serves as the governing body for beep baseball in the United States, promoting the sport through education, outreach, and national competition, including the annual Beep Baseball World Series. The UBT will feature 40 of the NBBA’s most accomplished athletes, each recognized for their speed, skill, and sportsmanship. Representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, the athletes bring powerful stories of perseverance and passion to the field.
“These All-Stars represent the highest level of competition in our sport, and I’m proud to see them take the field in front of a new audience at George Mason. It’s a milestone moment for beep baseball,” said Richie Flores, President of NBBA.
To kick off the weekend, MindsEye will host a “Learn to Play” Beepball Clinic on Friday, October 3 at 5:30 p.m., led by NBBA All-Stars and experienced volunteer coaches. This free, hands-on clinic is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of beepball directly from some of the sport’s most accomplished athletes. Participants will rotate through stations that focus on swing mechanics at the hitting station, ball tracking and zone awareness at the fielding station, and timing and buzzing base navigation at the base running station.
To register for the clinic, contact NBBA Outreach Chair Randy George at RGeorge@nbba.org.
The tournament officially begins on Saturday, October 4 at 10:35 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies, featuring the National Anthem, team introductions, a welcome from the university, and a ceremonial first pitch. Tournament games will follow, with a full day of thrilling matchups showcasing beepballs finest.
